Befriender Volunteer (Adults)

Description

We are looking for volunteers to join our Befriending Telephone Service which reaches out to the local communities most vulnerable and isolated. Volunteers will be asked to call a member at an agreed time each week. The calls can be arranged for anytime between 9am-9pm and any day of the week as long as it suits both parties. The calls can coincide with going out for a walk but this is optional.

Organisation aims and objectives

To provide opportunities to individuals who are homeless or at the risk of homelessness. This is acheived through the provision of a drop-in meal service and weekly skill based workshops.

Restrictions

Experience required: We are looking for volunteers who are: Good listeners Empathetic Non-judgemental Respectful
Travel details: Home based although the communication can coincide with going out for a walk but this is optional.
Minimum age: 18
