Are you a good listener, not quick to judge and reliable? Is that a yes..well we need you. Training and Support throughout your Befriending journey will be provided so that you feel fully equipped and prepared for your Befriending responsibilities. We are looking for a committment of 1,2, or 3 mornings/afternoons a week. The matching process will look at all the information gathered on the Volunteer and the Client so that personalities, interests and hobbies are all taken into account. Befriending may take place in the clients home, going for a coffee, attending an activity tailored to the clients personal needs/interests or attending an assessment appointment. There will be regular meetings between the Volunteer Coordinator and our team of Befrienders. As a Befriender your experience and opinions are invaluable to us, we are all committed to protecting the dignity and human rights of the vulnerable and socially isolated people in our community therefore we very much feel that a team people centred approach is the way forward.
