UKFCP Third Party Support Centre is established in March 2020 for the fight against Coronavirus COVID-19. We aim to ensure a safer community for Chinese people with great passion and dedication. We are now at the very CRUCIAL stage and we are looking for talents who could provide help for our community in your area and willing to address issues for the people in need.

*How to Apply Your Talents:

  • Provide general assistance to our national virtual Support Centre
  • Make notes on call log sheet and report form when receiving calls and emails
  • Be able to respond in caring manner, particularly talking with elderly or potential victims or witnesses who report hate incidents / crime
  • Redirect clients to relevant organisation for specific problems
  • Keep Centre Manager informed of any serious/ high level cases in a timely manner
  • Provide English-Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese) interpretation

Organisation aims and objectives

We unite, support, develop and promote the Chinese professional community in the United Kingdom.

Restrictions

Experience required: - Trustworthy, organised, communicative and flexible with time. - Good command of verbal and written English and Chinese. - Team working and volunteer experiences are preferred.
Travel details: No travel required - home based volunteering.
Minimum age: 18

Support

Training details: Excellent training and ongoing support is provided to all volunteers. All volunteers will be given induction on how the support centre operates and how to carry on routine tasks. Centre Manager will provide support all the time when the volunteer is carrying on the task.

First Aid Volunteers for Outreach Sessions

Street Friends Helping the Homeless Aberdeen is working towards a brighter future for homeless people, vulnerable and people in poverty. With dignity Street Friends Helping the Homeless offer fresh chilled sandwiches and desserts as meals, food parcels for a few days, clothing, pet food, toiletries/condoms/sanitary products to those most in need as a result of homeless, poverty or vulnerable. We have established links with specialist services. When we befriend, we keep a note anonymously, on how people are doing, if they are in danger/emergency they are given immediate help. If they wish to progress we can use the referrals to get people to the correct professional service. We offer kindness, empathy, friendship and safe choices if people wish to pursue them. As our outreach grows we need more need more registered first aiders for our outreach sessions we undertake (on a Wednesday 18:15 and Sunday at 16:45) We have a full volunteer pathway with training opportunities and all help makes a real difference and is always greatly appreciated.
