Description

The duties of a trustee board member are to ensures The Bike Station
complies with its governing document (the Articles of Association), charity law, company law and any other relevant legislation or regulations and
pursues its objects as defined in its governing document
contribute actively by setting overall policy, defining goals, setting targets, and evaluating performance against agreed targets
safeguard reputation and values
ensure financial stability

Organisation aims and objectives

The Bike Station is a community project that repairs and refurbishes donated and discarded bikes. We provide refurbished bikes to community groups and disadvantaged individuals to encourage cycling, a healthy lifestyle and independence. We also hold weekly sales of refurbished bikes and bike parts. We also provide bike maintenance training for individuals, community and school groups. Experience required: A commitment to the mission of the Bike Station, attend meetings regularly, give of their time and expertise on specific issues integrity good independent judgement, creative thinking , willingness to speak their mind acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship
