The main tasks are attendance at the monthly meetings, except August and December. This involves reading the reports and following up any allocated tasks. If volunteer trustees are available to attend other relevant meetings eg autism Cross Party Group, trustee training or staffing at awareness events that is welcome. Campaigning is part of our objectives and any skills in this area would be useful.

Organisation aims and objectives

Our vision is that families of adults on the autism spectrum will live meaningful and fulfilling lives. Our mission is to empower and support families of adults on the autism spectrum in Edinburgh and the Lothians. We aim to improve the health and wellbeing of family carers of adults on the autism spectrum in Edinburgh and the Lothians through: Peer Support, Information and Social Activities. We aim to raise awareness of the needs and aspirations of families of adults on the autism spectrum, with professional bodies and the public, in order to influence policy and change attitudes. We aim to work in partnership with others to promote the sharing of practical knowledge and experience in order to improve the quality and range of services available to adults on the autism spectrum and their family carers. We work in partnership to be carer-led, innovative, resourceful, inclusive and compassionate.










4 hours a week for 6 months.


Experience required: Essential: Good IT skills, listening, written and verbal communication, willingness to learn. Desirable: Marketing skills, ability to travel and meet older carers.
Travel details: The office is based at Norton Park, 57 Albion Road, off Easter Road. Social groups are held at other sites within Edinburgh. Bus routes are nearby.
