Description

We are seeking volunteers with specialist skills we can offer to our service users and/or the organisation. This may be for individuals, groups or a specific activity to service users/the organisation on an ongoing or one- off basis. Skills could include haircuts, chiropody, complementary therapies, art therapy, literacy classes, practical support, marketing, fundraising, IT or business skills. Whatever you feel you may be able to offer.

Organisation aims and objectives

We enable a life off the street for people facing extremely difficult circumstances. We provide expert and compassionate support and advice and we work with people so they can resolve their homelessness as quickly as possible. People can receive services from our Holyrood Hub but we also go to them, either on the street or in their own accommodation.

Flexible as to availability and role, one 2 hour shift per month for a minimum of 6 months.

Restrictions

Experience required: Evidence of your specialist skills that we can offer as individual or group activities to service users/or to the organisation on an ongoing or one-off basis.
Travel details: This volunteer role will be based at our offices at 18 South Bridge or at our Crisis Centre, 22 Holyrood Road, Edinburgh.
Minimum age: 18

Support

Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: Streetwork will pay for any out of pocket expenses like travel costs.
Training details: Induction and training will begin when the volunteer starts. Support for volunteers is ongoing through this process and any identified training needs provided as appropriate.
