Description

Alva Coronavirus Joint Response Group is a partnership between Alva Development Trust, Alva Baptist Church, Alva Co-Op, The Cochrane Foundation, Alva Parish Church, St John Vianney Catholic Church, Alva Community Council, and Girl Guiding. They are all working together in order to keep open a vital food bank service, shopping assistance, and community phone calls during this hard time. The group have been lucky in having lots of volunteers come forward, but are open to other members of the Alva Community joining them to assist.

Roles: Sorting donations, making up food parcels, delivering food parcels, shopping, phone call check ins.

To create a community owned and run space for everyone to use, enjoy and benefit from To promote social inclusion through recreation To build social capacity and a sense of place To raise community aspiration and opportunity through volunteering etc To preserve and promote the local heritage
