We all need to stay at home to protect ourselves and others. However, those who are well and not at risk can provide essential support for their family, friends and neighbours who cannot leave the house.
Please note, organisations are currently experiencing a large volume of enquiries from people looking to help out. They may not always be able to meet this demand so please be patient, you may not receive a quick response or be assigned to a role.
PlayPeace is a parent led service to support families who have a child or children with additional support needs. By offering play sessions which include children with additional needs, siblings and parents or carers PlayPeace aims to provide a welcoming, inclusive club which enables friendships, learning and play. It is in a safe setting with peer support for parents and carers.
PlayPeace was established in summer 2016 and now runs a variety of services. We are parent led and expanding, therefore looking to attract more volunteers.
Volunteering Opportunities - we are looking for volunteers who will provide extra pairs of hands to assist with the running of the club. Examples of tasks could range from:
PlayPeace offers services and activities in partnership with parents and interested bodies, to support families with children who additional needs in a whole family context, b: Being welcoming, inclusive and removing barriers to participation, involving PlayPeace families in all aspects of the services and activities offered.
Travel details: PlayPeace uses various community venues in North Lanarkshire, our Sunday sessions are in Bellshill. Additional sessions operate in Airdrie and Motherwell.
