Covid 19 Resilience Aberdeen - Neighbourhood Volunteers Needed

  • VO82925

Description

Covid 19 Resilience Aberdeen is coordinating Aberdeen’s response to the Covid-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak and is particularly ensuring older and the most vulnerable people get the help and support they need.

We are urgently seeking volunteers to help keep people safe and inside their homes during this crisis. If you are fit and healthy with no underlying health conditions and you are under 70 years old, then your neighbours need you! Now, more than ever before we need to stay connected in our communities and look after one another.

Can you help? We are looking for volunteers to help people living in your own neighbourhood who are unable to leave their homes and have no-one else to help them. This could mean doing things for your neighbours like • Picking up prescriptions • Picking up small amounts of local groceries • Posting mail • Urgent necessities • Making a friendly phone call.

All volunteers would have a Neighbourhood coordinator who they could contact for help, support and advice and we would ask that volunteers keep themselves safe by keeping up to date with current advice which can be found on the web sites below. You would not be expected to enter anyone’s home, take any money or other type of payment, this service is free to the person who needs it and goods would be left on the person’s doorstep.

If you can help in any way please email communities@aberdeencity.gov.uk

All help makes a real difference and will be greatly appreciated,
