Volunteer Befriender (Berwickshire)

  • VO82618

The Volunteer Befriender will provide conversation and accompany a Momentum Service User, living in Berwickshire, to access and enjoy a range of social and recreational activities, while also personally gaining enjoyment from the social experiences.

The Befriender will provide companionship and conversation to our 39 year old Service User, who has an interesting, strong, unique and resilient personality and some degree of physical impairment. Examples of his interests and activities include outings (e.g. to the zoo, art galleries, 10 Pin Bowling, Premier league darts, football matches, occasional music concerts - an “Indie” fan, occasional bingo, window shopping, and going for a coffee). He also enjoys watching sport on TV, moderately short walks, communicating by social media and discussing current affairs. He would like to be accompanied when travelling (either by someone who drives or on buses, etc.), including for occasional medical appointments.
