Why we want you
We are committed to supporting carers across Lanarkshire & volunteers are key partners in the success of our organisation and support all aspects of our work. Your contribution is key to supporting our services & the donation of your time, skills and experience is of invaluable benefit to us and the carers we support. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to support our carer support workers to assist with the facilitation of local support groups.
When we want you
The volunteer hours will be between 2.5 and 3 hours per group. Volunteers can support more than one group but commitment will depend on frequency of the preferred groups. Groups are held in Airdrie, Bellshill, Coatbridge, Cumbernauld, Motherwell, Clydesdale, East Kilbride/Strathaven, Hamilton/Blantyre, Wishaw/Shotts, Rutherglen/Cambuslang. We also have groups specifically for Polish Speakers and an international women’s group, creative art groups, and eating disorder carer support group.

Responsible for opening/closing & setting up of room venue
Linking in with carer support worker to arrange speakers, welcoming & introducing speakers to group

Providing a welcoming environment for carers
Recording and reporting on attendance
Facilitate group discussions
