We need some enthusiastic, outdoor-loving volunteers to assist the Education Team in delivery of fun, educational activities for children aged 7+ at our Easter Holiday Camps across various locations in Scotland. What you will be doing Assist Education staff in preparation of daily activities Assist with facilitation of activities such as den building; arts and crafts; mini-beast sessions; animal handling, encouraging the participating children’s creativity and curiosity. Encourage participating children to enjoy the outdoors and connect with nature Encourage the participating children to be responsible animal citizens Assist Education staff in tidying up at the end of daily sessions Any other general duties as directed by the Education Team staff.

You will work alongside fellow volunteers and our team of dedicated staff.

To carry out this role, we are looking for someone who is/has:

 Experience of working with primary school age children (this can be formally e.g as a classroom assistant, or informally e.g as a parent or guardian)
 Excellent communication skills, particularly with young people
 A level of practical skills and willing to learn new tasks
 Fun, positive attitude and enjoy the outdoors
 Good attention to detail
 A strong interest in and commitment to animal welfare
 Patient and encouraging manner Confident and happy around children (7+)

Over almost two centuries, we’ve grown to become a national charity which celebrates the strength of the human-animal bond and enriches the lives of animals and people. Investigating abuse across Scotland, we’re proud to be at the forefront of preventing cruelty to animals. As the only animal charity in the UK recognised as a reporting agency to the Crown Office, our inspectors enforce the Animal Health and Welfare (Scotland) Act 2006. We are a completely separate charity from the RSPCA, which helps animals in England and Wales. Donations are vital because we receive no government funding.

Training details: Volunteers will receive a standard Scottish SPCA Induction, plus any role specific information/ training as necessary. You will have a designated member of the Team to support you.
