Identifying suitable locations for collecting cans to be placed in your local community.
Placing and servicing the collection cans (this involves checking that they are sealed and labelled correctly).
Emptying cans and counting the money.
Banking the money.
Keep an accurate record of all outgoing and incoming cans.

Organisation aims and objectives

The Yard is an adventure playground and centre, especially adapted to offer freeplay opportunities to children and young people with additional support needs between the ages of 3 to 25 years old. Staff and volunteers support children in accessing resources and exploring the varied and stimulating environment on offer. The enable children to confidentially approach new and challenging experiences with an element of risk.

Experience required: Essential Enthusiastic and friendly about The Yard and your local community. Great organisational and communication skills. Accurate counting skills Desirable Good knowledge of your local community Basic research and computer skills
Travel details: Location will vary depending on your geographical location and the collection cans in the area.
Minimum age: 18


Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: There is a form for your to fill out and your contact in the organisation will take a copy of your receipt. We will need your bank details so that we can pay you back via BACS.
Training details: It is important to us that you feel part of The Yard community and we want you to feel confident and happy in your volunteering role. You will be invited to come along to a short induction that will cover the basics on Health and Safety, Children Protection, Cash handling, Data Protection and Representing The Yard in the community. We run a number of training courses in house that you are welcome to attend so that you can develop your knowledge of the services we provide. Our fundraising team will be in regular contact and will meet you as often as is needed to provide support and guidance.
