Volunteer Cartographer required to help breathe life back into the East Dunbartonshire Asset Map website. We are looking for someone literate, methodical and comfortable with computers to help enter and format content for the website.
The OPAL partnership requires a Volunteer Cartographer to help us rebuild the East Dunbartonshire Asset Map website. This involves some writing and editing skills, a methodical approach to categorising and describing website content and being comfortable with using a computer.
Initially there will be quite a lot of work involved in populating the website - you will have help! - probably for a period of about 3 months, but once that is completed there will be a smaller role involved for maintenance and updateing of the website.
The Asset Map website is based on WordPress, the most popular blogging platform in the world. Training will be provided in how to use WordPress, how to use categories and tags for search engine optimisation and how to format Assets appropriately

Experience required: Editing ability, computer literacy and a methodical and structured approach to the overall workload. Some familiarity with WordPress and SEO would be useful but training will be provided.
Travel details: You can work from wherever you have access to a computer with an internet connection. there is space available in our office, but your own couch is probably more comfortable.

Expenses details: Reimbursement of public transport rates, car mileage reimbursed at current HMRC rates.
Training details: introduction to the office (if appropriate), introduction to Asset Map website, training as necessary. Ongoing supervision will take place at least once per month but we have an open door policy so if you need to speak to someone you pick up the phone.
