Description

Jolly Sixties is a day and lunch club for the over 60s taking place on Thursdays every week and they are looking for a volunteer to help in the kitchen. Eating together is a big part of socialising and reducing isolation and thus the organisation are looking for a volunteer with a bit of previous experience in cooking, ideally for a small group.

Members usually arrive at around 10am. There is opportunity to socialising, entertainment and sometimes even days out. Teas and coffees are available in the morning and a two course lunch is served at 11.45am. It will be your role to cook or assist with cooking and planning meals each week. The volunteer will discuss with the coordinator what ingredients they will need for the following week and the coordinator will take responsibility for doing the shopping. The volunteer will also be expected to help with the cleaning up at the end of the meal.

The coordinator is happy to negotiate start/finish times to work around the volunteers' other commitments if necessary.
