Scotland’s Gardens Scheme in Aberdeen is looking for a new Treasurer to become a part of our district team. The national charity has divided Scotland into 23 districts, each with their own team of volunteers, led by a District Organiser. The team support local garden owners to open their gardens to the public, charging an admission price and selling plants and refreshments to raise money for a charity of their choice. Our District Treasurer is responsible for the financial management of the district and works closely with the District Organiser and Garden Owners. The Treasurer receives monies from garden openings and pays the money to the charities that the gardens support. They are responsible for district accounts and balance the district’s bank statement. Scotland’s Gardens has a very easy to use database system for this role and provides letter templates, guidance, full training and ongoing support. This is a really interesting role, a great way to give back to the community and ideal for someone who has previous accountancy knowledge, or is training and would like to gain some real life experience.
For further information please contact Julie Golding, Volunteer Manager at E Mail: email@example.com or Tel No: 0131 226 3714.
