Description

Moray Stroke Folk are looking for helpers to assist the people who attend this local group and their carers. This can include helping to set up and clear the room when needed, helping with teas and coffees, chatting to members, playing cards or board games, helping members to take part in safely organised activities, being on hand at outings to assist members, respecting group's health and safety procedures and confidentiality.

Organisation aims and objectives

Moray Stroke Folk is an independent group, affliated to, and insured by, Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland (CHSS). Our aim is to improve the life of older peple in the Forres area who have had a stroke. The group meets this objective by providing social contact and outings and providing information to help members live with their condition.

Restrictions

Experience required: Helpful to have an understanding of the needs of people who have had a stroke (and their carers), be open, warm and friendly, be able to work as apart of a team, be aware of boundaries and your own limitations, hold an emergency first aid certificate, have expereince of assisting with wheelchairs
