Our PR volunteer works closely with the District Organiser in their area to promote garden open days, plant sales, trails and events; working with local publications and media, including radio.
Promoting local garden openings through press releases, articles in local publications, adverts, etc. and working closely with local media, including radio. Linking directly with the Marketing Manager at Head Office to help promote national events. Attending garden openings and other activities related to this role, as agreed with the District Organiser. The aim is to increase the profile of Scotland’s Gardens Scheme, to attract more gardens to open for charity and to increase visitor numbers to open days. This would also be an ideal role for anyone studying marketing and communications.

Experience required: Good communication and writing skills.
Good networking skills.
Willingness to work closely with garden owners.
Experience of working in media would be an advantage.

Minimum age: 18
Expenses details: Expenses associated with your role by agreement with the District Organiser. We are not generally able to pay mileage, except for specific national events and training.
Training details: General induction to Scotland’s Gardens and training events during the year. Written guidance and useful templates are available from our Marketing Manager. Ongoing local and national support.
