Huntly Foodbank Volunteer

We are looking for people to volunteer in Huntly Foodbank Centre where we provide emergency food parcel to individuals and families who are referred to us. There are different areas you can help in where you feel most comfortable.

  1. If you enjoy coming a long side people and making them feel welcomed and relaxed by offering them tea and coffee then this is one area to help out in.
  2. Packing the food parcel for our clients who need support.
  3. Checking the dates on our food and stocking the shelves.

(2 & 3 can require heavy lifting so able bodied required) or you can help in all 3 areas if you like.

Organisation aims and objectives

To mitigate the effects of poverty by the provision of food parcels to clients referred by a range of agencies










2 hours on a Tuesday Morning 11am-1pm. 2 hours on a Friday 11am-1pm. The level of commitment is up to the volunteer. Even being available for the rota for 1 or 2 sessions a month is suitable.


Experience required: You need to be kind, compassionate, patient. Able physically as there is some lifting. Good organising skills are helpful but not necessary. Enjoy working as part of a team.
Travel details: The Foodbank is situated round the back of the Bargain Box shop and there is parking in the street for those who use their car
Minimum age: 18


Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: Any mileage undertaking Foodbank tasks is paid, but not travel to and from place of volunteering.
Taster available: Yes
Taster details: You can visit the Foodbank Centre, meet the coordinator or manager and have a trial session.
