The Board of Trustees is responsible for the governance and operation of our growing charity which is re-purposing historic Madelvic House as a thriving creative centre benefiting the local community. Our Board covers the roles of Chair, Treasurer, Secretary and Communications. As our operation grows, we need to expand our capacity and would particularly welcome someone with fundraising expertise. We are a hands-on Board, supporting our Development Coordinator and small team of volunteers.

Organisation aims and objectives

To develop historic Madelvic House as a creative hub for the benefit of the local community. Our purposes are To advance the arts by exhibiting and encouraging community involvement in creating art in various forms. To advance heritage by preserving and repurposing historic Madelvic House as a thriving artist/maker based community hub. To advance culture by encouraging integration of different sectors within the local community through film, exhibitions, talks and community initiated events. To advance education through provision of a variety of workshops, films, talks and awareness raising activities. To advance environmental protection and improvement through promoting recycling / upcycling and creating a community garden. To provide a broad range of recreational activities. The hub will provide a welcoming space for people to meet and learn new skills.










2-4 hours per week.


Experience required: Working with others in a collaborative way to generate ideas and make them happen: as a Board and with staff/volunteers. Personal organisation, responding to emails and following up, scheduling activity.
Travel details: Madelvic House Granton Park Avenue, Edinburgh EH5 1HS and from home.
Minimum age: 18

Training details: Informal at times to suit.
