Have fun, learn new skills and make a difference to the lives of older people in your area. Bield Housing & Care are looking for a volunteer to join the team at retirement housing development, Moorfoot Court in Bonnyrigg.
Social Activities Volunteers help reduce isolation and loneliness by supporting older people in a variety of ways. The tenants at Moorfoot Court need some support with activities on a weekday evening or on a Thursday/Friday afternoon, for just a couple of hours, either weekly or fortnightly.
Training and ongoing support will be provided. Expenses will also be provided and the minimum age for volunteering is 16 years old.

Organisation aims and objectives

Bield is a not for profit organisation and Scottish Charity, as well as a Registered Social Landlord. For over 40 years we've been developing Housing and Services to enable Scotland's older people live the life they want. This is made possible thanks to the experience, dedication and passion of our staff and volunteers.

Experience required: We are looking for friendly individuals with good communication skills and who are keen to work with older people
Travel details: Moorfoot Court, Bonnyrigg EH19 3HH - Accessible by bus
Minimum age: 16


Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: We pay public transport rates and car mileage (45p a mile), reimbursing volunteers monthly
Training details: Training with manager and some e-learning
