Befriending support (Carer's Cafe)

  • VO79154

Description

Volunteers are needed to assist with the monthly Carer's Cafe in Kirkcaldy. This is a cafe for parents and carers as well as people with complex needs who can use the facilities along with attending the cafe. Volunteers would help in the cafe kitchen chatting to & providing company to visitors, serving snacks, clearing and cleaning tables and keeping the kitchen area tidy. You may also be asked to support external events such as fun days or Christmas parties.

The cafe is fully accessible for blind people and people with complex needs and learning disabilities and is held on the last Saturday of each month. It's within the day centre so parents and carers can enjoy the cafe while the people they support can use the activity rooms or enjoy the cafe too.

Volunteers are also needed who could support in the cafe as well as help with activities such as arts & crafts or music. You would be guided by the cafe coordinator in this respect but any ideas would be welcome.
