We’re looking for friendly volunteers with good people skills to befriend our members, who are all veterans with sight loss, and take part in activities with them. Part of the role will involve supporting members one-on-one, and you’ll also help us provide monthly lunch clubs and other social events. You will help us to improve our members’ quality of life and play a vital role in easing isolation.
Tasks and Responsibilities include 1) supporting members to participate in activities 2) working alone and/or within a group setting to assist, support and accompany veterans who have a visual impairment 3) Supporting and befriending visually impaired veterans within a lunch group setting or within the veterans’ home. If you have your own car and are able to drive veterans to and from designated activities this would also be very helpful.
