Description

To join our small team of volunteers every second Wednesday afternoon to provide an enjoyable and stimulating meeting for our club members who are aged from around 60 to over 90.
We need help with:
Setting up and clearing up the hall.
Assist with preparing and serving a snack or occasional lunch. Contributing ideas/suggestions for new menus.
Interact with the group members.
Feedback any observations to the committee e.g. food or talk going well or not so well, new members needing help to settle in.
Offer solutions to the committee and where appropriate help implement i.e. take ownership with support.
Share knowledge and talents eg IT skills, musical talent or public speaking.

Restrictions

Experience required: Empathy, organisation skills, ability to think on your feet, open minded, confidence in your own worth and abilities.
Travel details: The opportunity takes place in Lund/Mission Hall, Cowdenhill Road, Bo'ness. No 2 First Bus runs a half hourly service which stops at the bottom of Cowdenhill Road. There is also an hourly Linlithgow service stopping at the same place. Walk from the bus stop is approx. 2 minutes.

Support

Taster available: Yes
Taster details: Volunteer can "pop in" to meet the volunteers.
Training details: Volunteer will be teamed up with an experienced helper until they demonstrate confidence in a task. Consolidation will be by taking the lead role and ensuring tasks run to schedule and meetings are successful.
