Description

LINK is currently seeking volunteers for the Adolescent Befriending Project. If you can spare a couple of hours a fortnight and would like to help young people (12-18) who have become isolated due to mental health issues, LINK would love to hear from you.

Befriending involves being matched with a young person, getting to know them and agreeing a regular pattern of contact and support. This may involve supporting someone to attend a social or leisure activity or any other reasonable activity that the person would find difficult to do on their own. You may find yourself going for coffee, a walk, visiting the theatre, cinema, bowling or sporting activities.

LINK's volunteers benefit from social events throughout the year, regular support and supervision, out-of-pocket expenses and training opportunities.

Organisation aims and objectives

LINK works with marginalised, isolated 12-18 year olds in East Fife and Levenmouth with mental health issues. We aim to assist the young people to increase their resilience, confidence, social skills and self esteem through the support of a consistent and reliable befriender.
