Description

CSH Young Leaders will do the following:
• Promote sport and physical activity
• Coach, lead, officiate and volunteer in sport
• Represent the views of young people
• Organise and lead on new projects
Working with over 60 sports clubs, physical activity groups and non-sport organisations the individual will be deployed across school and community environments. Tasks are identified based on local need and demand and will vary.

Restrictions

14-25 years old
Experience required: The role requires a person to be confident, enthusiastic, friendly and positive with a keen interest in sport and community development. The individual will work on their own initiative and as part of a team to meet various stakeholder needs. The role therefore requires individuals to be organised and communicate effectively.
Minimum age: 14

Support

Taster details: CSH Young Leaders will be mentored by an Active Schools and Community Club Development Officer (Renfrewshire Leisure – Sports and Health Services) as well as working alongside local sports clubs and schools to meet local outcomes. On appointment each leader will be allocated a mentor who will take them through an induction, support in completing and maintaining a personal development plan and network with other young leaders within the project.
