Description

This is a wonderful opportunity to support a local Stranraer woman with a learning disability to go out and about in the town to meet and greet people, have snacks, do light shopping and generally feel included in the community.
The role is designed to be fun but with meaningful outcomes for enjoyment, inclusion and health and wellbeing. No personal care is involved.

Organisation aims and objectives

To assist people with disabilities throughout the world, regardless of their colour or creed, by providing the conditions necessary for their physical, mental and spiritual well-being.

Restrictions

Experience required: No previous experiences is required. We seek a reliable, flexible and responsible person with an empathy for supporting people with disability to enjoy being out and about and feel more included.
Travel details: Stranraer
Minimum age: 16

Expenses paid: Yes
Training details: Leonard Cheshire Induction modules to be completed with full support of the volunteer co-ordinator and further free training is available, i.e. emergency first aid
Support: Wheelchair Access/Disabled Access Toilet
