We all need to stay at home to protect ourselves and others. However, those who are well and not at risk can provide essential support for their family, friends and neighbours who cannot leave the house.
Please note, organisations are currently experiencing a large volume of enquiries from people looking to help out. They may not always be able to meet this demand so please be patient, you may not receive a quick response or be assigned to a role.
This recently established charity, is looking for a volunteer willing to work a few hours each week as treasurer. As Treasurer, you would need to become a Board Member of this registered Scottish charity.
You will need to handle membership payments, as well as the day to day operational costs, with the support of the other Board members. It is anticipated that in the future the charity may apply for grants and so the treasurer should be able to assist with this. The charity is based in Woodside Walled Garden, Ancrum, Jedburgh. This is a voluntary position, with expenses being paid out on request.
WGWW illustrates how gardening in a manner which is attractive to wildlife, can have a positive effect on biodiversity, and is also beneficial to physical and mental health. WGWW strive to do this by maintaining a garden at Woodside which is open for anyone to enjoy, individually or in small groups
Experience required: As we are only a small charity, you do not need to be a skilled book-keeper – a willingness to help and enthusiasm for the project are the main requirements, along with being competent in dealing with money and numbers.
