Beloved Rabbits are entering a new phase of ambitious development, that seeks to improve the charity’s financial strength as we work towards a three-year plan that will culminate in the opening of a new purpose designed rabbit welfare services centre.

To support the organisation’s operational vision, a Fundraising Strategy is being developed to underpin the funding necessary to achieve these goals.

The Fundraising Activities Manager is one of four critical roles identified within the Fundraising Strategy necessary to meet the fundraising objectives. The role forms part of the charity’s two-tier management structure encompassing four charity trustees and 10 Management Team members. There is also a wider team of dedicated volunteers in excess of 80 individuals, which we anticipate growing in number as we expand our activities further.

The Fundraising Activities Manager would focus on planning, organising and ensure the smooth running of the charity’s fundraising activities.

These activities may include:

participation in public fetes and galas
pop-up awareness stalls in public venues such as shopping centres
sponsorship activities such as participation in KiltWalk, sky dives, abseiling, etc.
fundraising social events such as pub quizzes, coffee mornings, etc.
online fundraising events such as auctions, quizzes, competitions, etc.
The role holder would also be expected to motivate volunteers and members of the public to engage with these fundraising activities as part of instilling a culture of “The Fundraising Conversation” needed to support the important rabbit welfare activities the charity undertakes.

It is anticipated that, with the support of the Board of Trustees and Management Team, the Fundraising Activities Manager would recruit dedicated and casual volunteers to assist with the delivery of their activities.

Organisation aims and objectives

Beloved Rabbits is a registered Scottish Charity devoted to rabbit welfare, providing various services including rescue, rehoming, bonding & care advice. Using Foster Families to care for our rabbits, we also present rabbit welfare demonstrations and classes to schools, and have fundraising and awareness events at many local galas and community events, pet stores and shopping centres.

Frequency and commitment details

Flexible, but as required. Most volunteers offer their time during evenings and weekends alongside other work and family commitments. Part-time equivalent, estimated to be a 1-2 hours per day. Minimum commitment of 12 months due to charity investment.

Experience required: Experienced in fundraising activities and events management, either professionally or within a volunteering capacity. Interest in animal welfare Good organisational skills Attention to detail Work as part of a small team Leadership qualities Excellent Communication & Customer Service Dedication & commitment to work Comfortable user of internet social media, software and Office software
Travel details: Whilst a home-based opportunity, it is expected that the role-holder will be required to attend regular activities ar our HQ in Kirkintilloch, as well as attend several events and fundraising activities throughout Central Scotland.
