Could you spend regular time with a child, sharing a hobby or activity on a weekly basis? If you have a genuine interest in the well being of children and live in the Langlees / Falkirk area then we would love to hear from you. Aberlour Family Support Centre – Langlees helps families by building confidence in parents and offering lots of fun for children.

Organisation aims and objectives

Befriending is a relationship between a volunteer and a young person which is initiated, supported and monitored by the befriending staff team. The aim of our service is to enhance the quality of a young person's life by supporting and promoting their welfare and personal development through the involvement in shared activities i.e 1:1 befriending or group activities with a volunteer befriender.

Restrictions

For all roles involving regulated work with children and/or protected adults, Aberlour will require the applicant to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme.
Experience required: A genuine interest in the lives of children, reliable/committed, friendly, non-judgmental, empathetic and enthusiastic.
Travel details: Happens in Langlees, Falkirk area. Served by buses from other areas of Falkirk, closest train station is Falkirk Grahamston.
Minimum age: 18

Support

Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: Mileage at 45p per mile or public transport costs reimbursed, paid monthly.
Training details: Induction training will be given about Aberlour and a service induction will be given. Child Protection training and attachment and resilience training
