Tutor- Adult ESOL

  • VO77977

Ideally someone with a good command of the English language & grammar. Any qualification in English as a second language (eg: CELTA, TEFL) would be useful but not essential.
Most tutors work with one student. You will be given a learning Plan; what they need to learn and suggested materials to use.
You plan the session, work through it and write up a brief account of it. Homework is set and the next stage discussed with the student. You usually work for one hour per week.
Some tutors support a Community Learning Assistant. In this case, they give support to students, like a classroom assistant would do.
You will receive 30 hours training,(10x3) but may start tutoring before the training if there is a student available.
