Creative? Love arts and crafts? Find it easy to share what you know with others? Always up for a friendly chat? If so, you could well be perfect for our arts and crafts volunteer role, helping our members develop their skills and creativity in our fully equipped, purpose-build art room. We are looking for a volunteer who can support members with their tasks and projects, so your hands-on skills will be key (ideally your many talents will include sewing). Equally, you should someone who can to strike up a friendly conversation with our members and support interaction between them.

As a volunteer, you will meet inspiring people, gain valuable experiences, and help us to change the lives of those who have served their country.

Organisation aims and objectives

Our vision is to see a community in which blind and partially sighted people, including those who have other disabilities, are fully included and lead fulfilling lives. Scottish War Blinded supports service veterans with vision impairment to maintain and increase their independence and improve their quality of life.











Experience required: 1. A range of arts and crafts skills, which will ideally include sewing 2. Good communication skills 3. A commitment to demonstrating Scottish War Blinded values of being approachable, forward thinking, professional, positive, empowering and sector leading.

Expenses details: Out of pocket expenses such as travel fares are available subject to prior agreement with manager.

Taster details: We can arrange a visit and chat with staff for volunteers who meet the essential requirements.
Training details: Organisational induction training is compulsory, further training is available.
