Fantastic Opportunity to Join the British Red Cross Team of Emergency Response Volunteers

About the role:
As an Emergency Response volunteer, you may be providing much needed practical and emotional support to individuals, as part of a team, in support of category 1 and 2 responders and other agencies following an emergency or major incident. In addition, you could provide "behind the scenes" support to the response.
About the team:
The British Red Cross responds to hundreds of UK emergencies every year - from major floods to house fires and transport accidents. Our trained volunteers are always available to help, working closely with the emergency services, local authorities and other agencies to support their work responding to crises.
About the person:
We keep the service users at the heart of all we do working to understand their needs and the difference we make. As well as good interpersonal, diplomacy, communication and teamwork skills, we are looking for people who have, or are willing to undertake further training, particularly any technical requirements. To volunteer for the Emergency Response role you must be aged 18+. However, we greatly value the skills, energy and enthusiasm that young people bring to the Red Cross and (subject to a risk assessment, safeguarding requirements and parental consent) people aged 15-17 years can be involved in a variety of activities such as promoting the service, supporting service volunteers and undertaking training.
