Communications Volunteer

We are looking for someone to assist us with our communications and promotion. You would work with and in support of Trust staff to help promote the work of ELGT, and to promote the benefits of greenspace for health and wellbeing. You would also help collate feedback from participants, enabling us to report on the impact of the activities we run.

Organisation aims and objectives

The Edinburgh & Lothians Greenspace Trust works to make a positive difference in quality of life for Lothian communities by improving their local environment. We believe that quality local greenspaces can have a positive impact on the health and well-being of individuals, particularly in disadvantaged areas. We work with communities, landowners, local authorities and other organisations, within urban and rural areas of Edinburgh and the Lothians, to create sustainable, well-managed and accessible greenspaces. We endeavour to ensure that everyone has an equal opportunity to enjoy their natural environment and we work for the benefit of people, wildlife, landscape and heritage.










Minimum 7 hours per week for 3 months


Experience required: Essential qualities for this role: Excellent written communication skills. Strong IT skills, including Word, Excel, Publisher Familiarity with social media (e.g. Facebook, Twitter). Other useful qualities: Interest or experience in graphic design and digital content
Travel details: Based at ELGT Office, 109/11 Swanston Road, Edinburgh EH10 7DS, but would involve assisting at events and activities throughout Edinburgh.

Expenses details: Form to be completed along with receipts. Expenses will be paid by bank transfer.
Training details: You will be given a full induction and one-to-one guidance and support. Through this process, any relevant training or further support will be identified, and training will be provided as necessary.
