Memory Planters Volunteer

Description

Memory Planters is a new project that aims to support people with dementia to do hands on gardening. We are working in partnership with Newbattle Abbey College and using their community garden and expertise so that people with dementia can plant and grow their own produce, can create herb gardens and flower tubs to take home and can gain the benefit of being outside in a beautiful and supportive environment. Volunteers will work alongside people with dementia, supporting them to get the greatest benefit from the experience. No gardening expertise is necessary, you can learn alongside the participants! You will also have the opportunity to support people with dementia to take part in ‘Christmas at Newbattle’ and in an end of year celebration event.
