Homework Club Support

Description

Early in 2019 PKAVS were commissioned to develop a service for Young Carers who require extra Educational Support to help with achievement and engagement within schools. The EASyc (Education Attainment Service for young carers) looks to develop person centred support for those Young Carers referred in. The service is open to all Young Carers 5-18 years old who are currently enrolled in school that meet the criteria.
We are looking to gather a highly motivated team of people to volunteer in our homework clubs. This would suit those who have an interest in education and engaging young people i.e. retired teachers, current teachers looking to support their CPD, 6th year students looking to volunteer as part of DoE or just looking for some experience volunteering as part of employment or Further Education applications.

Organisation aims and objectives

PKAVS Carers Services support unpaid Carers of all ages, living in Perth & Kinross and caring for family, partners, friends or neighbours. Using a holistic approach in working with people who have caring responsibilities we help carers retain a life outside of caring and develop skills or interests to enhance their own lives.
