Description

Volunteering with FABB’s Blazing Saddles’ all-ability cycling engagement programmes is exciting and fun! You learn how to lead a group of disabled riders on a range of bikes like side-by-sides, tandems, wheelchair transporters, hand-cycles and decide whether you wish to progress to bike maintenance, roadside repair and, First Aid Training courses. You are not expected to be a competitive athlete for this role as we are assisting riders at the beginning of their pedalling experiences, progressing towards a more sustainable mainstream cycling hub with friends and family.

Organisation aims and objectives

The objects for whicih the comapny is established and the aims and objectives of the Company are: -To empower disabled people to actively engage in the social, leisure and educational activities of their choice. -To encourage the inclusion of disabled people residing in the area of Scotland through the provision of specific programmes and projects or facilitating access to mainstream leisure provision -To increase awareness of barriers to disabled people's participation through the provision of activity specific training and the inclusion of disability awareness in existing training programmes. -To further the inclusion of disabled people into society and to promote the work of organisations which provide membersip on an equal basis for disabled and non-disabled people.
