Listening Service Volunteer

Volunteers required to offer companionship and a non judgmental listening ear on a 1 to 1 basis, while maintaining client confidentiality. Help clients find their way around the court system and identify locations within the building. Work as part of a team and participate in court related activities, training, support and supervision and promotion of the Listening Service.

Organisation aims and objectives

The Listening Service complements the work of the Edinburgh Sheriff Court Services. We offer a non-judgemental, confidential listening ear to any Court user so that they feel less isolated and better supported in what can be a difficult, stressful and confusing situation.










4 hours per week


Experience required: No previous experience required. Ability to maintain confidentiality, respect all clients and team members, build rapport quickly. Good listening and communication skills and personal resilience required.
