An exciting opportunity has become available at our local community football club.
To support the Club’s Executive Board and Executive Commitment in all financial matters including annual budget plans, monitoring of the financial position and day to day support to cashflow and banking for all business activities of the Club.
The role is a core member of the Club’s Executive Board and the Executive Committee and reports to the Club Chairman for advice and support. On a day to day basis the Treasurer works autonomously to deliver the required tasks using professional judgement and experience. The role is a volunteer role and can be shared with more than 1 volunteer.
The following is a list of the main duties of the role, however this is intended as a guide and is NOT exhaustive.
To agree with the Executive Board the Annual Budget for the Club.
To monitor and report to the Executive Board and Executive Committee the financial position for the Club as required.
To manage and report to the Executive Board the Club’s cashflow on a regular basis.
To issue payment of agreed expenditure commitments to the Club’s contractors and
To support the management of the Club’s Sponsorship Register providing information from the bank reconciliation to record payments and enable follow up of outstanding monies.
To provide the liaison between the Club’s appointed Accountant and the Executive Board and Executive Committee.
To provide all necessary information to the appointed Accountants for the Club as an
employer in terms of HMRC Pay As You Earn and National Insurance contributions.
To support the business of the Bar and the Cafe through ordering, stock control and pricing.
To provide all necessary information to the appointed Accountants in respect of the Club’s quarterly VAT return.
To agree the Club’s insurance arrangements for leased Property, Public Liability at the 3G arena, and Player Injury cover.
To provide the cash and banking support to the Club’s weekly activities including Bar and Gate floats, Match Officials payments and petty cash transactions.
Gala Fairydean Rovers FC are the main football club in the town of Galashiels. We have teams participating in the Scottish Lowland League and the Border Amateur League. The ultimate aim of the club is to achieve full Scottish League status and bring Senior football to the Borders. We wish to achieve this aim using a sustainability model and involving the local community as much as possible.
Experience required: Previous experience in finance, accounting or business administration Competent in Microsoft Excel.
