Description

We need your help reduce homelessness and landfill. come and join our collections team who pick up donations of furniture and household goods and deliver them to the homeless and our charity shops across Highland. The job involves driving company vans safely and efficiently, ensuring all relevant Health and Safety and driving regulations and consistently delivered. Assisting with the collection of donations (including lifting and handling) of a wide range of furniture and household goods, ensuring careful handling and packing. Delivering excellent customer service to members of the public and the New Start team.To assist with the general maintenance of the vehicles.

Restrictions

Driving. Full,clean driving licence required.
Experience required: We are looking for someone who enjoys driving with a full,clean driving licence and has some experience with driving vans, preferably up to 7.5 tonnes, but this is not essential. Must have good communication and teamworking skills, the ability to carry out instructions and be courteous with the general public. It is a physically demanding post with lifting and handling duties.
Travel details: An accessible location on the outskirts of the city. Parking available, and bus route. Full travel expenses will be reimbursed.
Minimum age: 18

Expenses details: Payment by cheque or BACS on submission of claim form and receipts where applicable.
Taster available: Yes
Taster details: Basic induction followed by on the job training with the logistics trainer.
Training details: Full one day induction and initial assessment followed by introduction to logistics department. Thereafter ongoing work based training and opportunities to join certificated courses in Reversing assistant, Fork Lift, Health and Safety and First Aid
