Great Place Events Volunteer

Events volunteers will participate in a range of indoor and outdoor activities: from community festivals to exhibitions and craft activities. Volunteers will help with practical tasks to make events run smoothly, share information with the public and help run activities, games, and more.
The Great Place project is a district-wide 2-year programme of activities celebrating the places, people, traditions and industry of the Falkirk area with thanks to the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Organisation aims and objectives

The Arts Team at Falkirk Community Trust provide a dynamic programme of performances, screenings, exhibitions, workshops and classes for all ages, in a variety of venues and across a range of art forms: film, new media, dance, drama, visual arts and crafts and music. We offer advice and networking opportunities; we work with local and national arts organisations to support existing cultural activity and encourage new work and new opportunities. The Arts Team is responsible for a wide range of locations and activities: Falkirk Town Hall, Hippodrome cinema, Callendar House, film, theatre and exhibition programmes, arts development events, projects and activities and box office services.

Experience required: This opportunity is best suited to people who are outgoing, friendly, and have an interest in learning about and sharing our local heritage at fun, family-friendly events.
Travel details: The Great Place scheme will run events from May 2019 to March 2021. All programmes will take place within the Falkirk council area
