The role of driver is to arrange the hire of a van as needed and to drive to collect tools from our collectors in Scotland and also members of the public when they have a large load, and deliver to the Cowdenbeath refurbishment centre. This role can be flexible and tasks may indclude: Hiring a van, loading and unloading the van, carrying out pre- and post-visit checks and recording the journey log. We provide full induction and volunteer handbook on starting. The induction will include van checks.

Organisation aims and objectives

Tools with a Mission collects unwanted tools, refurbishes them, sorts them into trade kits and sends them to disadvantaged people mostly in Africa. We collect tools all over Britain and send around 22 containers filled with over 300 tonnes of tools every year. Our definition of tools is wide and includes computers and sewing machines, as well as power and hand tools. We assist local people supporting their own communities through projects that create livelihoods. We believe there is dignity through work and the ability to provide for yourself and your family and that entire communities can be transformed through training and the provision of tool kits and equipment. We also offer a range of volunteering opportunities here in Britain.
