Description

Local groups are run by volunteers and offer friendship and support to people living with Parkinson's, their families and carers across the UK.

The Support Group Coordinator keeps the group organised and running smoothly.
As a Support Group Coordinator, you may:

• act as a contact for local and UK office staff, • arrange the group's programme of activities, • organise room booking and refreshments, • organise outings and meals out, • work with the Volunteer Co-ordinator to enable the group to operate within Parkinson's UK's guidelines to bring forward the day when no-one fears Parkinson's.

We're the Parkinson's charity that drives better care, treatments and quality of life. Together we can bring forward the day when no one fears Parkinson's. We provide expert information on every aspect of Parkinson's so that people affected by the condition can stay in control of their lives.

Roughly 2 hours/week, with group meetings taking place once every month.

Restrictions

Experience required: We're looking for volunteers who: • have strong administrative skills, to ensure smooth running of the group. • will gather and distribute information to everyone involved • are motivated and reliable, with strong organisational skills • are enthusiastic and friendly

Expenses details: Expenses can be claimed monthly.
Training details: Volunteers starting in a new role will complete the award-winning Parkinson's UK Induction created by volunteers, for volunteers. Your Parkinson's UK staff contact will provide guidance and training.
