We are looking for a Treasurer to join our Board of Directors/Trustees. The Treasurer will have financial experience to take the lead at board level on:

  • Reviewing Into Work's financial performance.
  • Ensuring Into Work has robust and effective financial controls and policies in place.
  • Liaising with finance staff and with our auditors.
  • Reporting on financial matters to the other Directors and members who meet six times a year in Edinburgh.
  • Chairing our Finance & Audit Committee who meet four times a year in Edinburgh.

Organisation aims and objectives

We provide personalised employment advice and practical support for people with a disability or long-term health condition who live in Edinburgh, East Lothian and Midlothian. Into Work is a charity, a non-profit organisation. We have many years' experience helping people with health conditions and health conditions achieve their goal of both finding and keeping a paid job. Into Work would like to see a world where people with long term health issues or disabilities have equal opportunity to take up employment and receive fair treatment in work. We help the people who come to us secure meaningful, paid and sustainable employment. Our employment services are based on the 5 Staged Supported Employment Model.










3 - 4 hours per month for a minimum of a year.


Experience required: Financial experience Working collaboratively with others in formal board and finance sub-committee meetings. Liaising with our finance staff and auditors Interest in supporting disabled people to achieve their employment goals.
Travel details: Bus into centre of Edinburgh, route 35 from South Bridge or route 1 from Princes Street to Easter Road, then 4 minute walk.
Minimum age: 16


Training details: Attend a board meeting as trial; Board induction day with Chair and Finance Officer and Senior Manager, introduction to the staff team, board training, mentor if required and support from Into Work Senior Manager.
