The chairperson role will involve overall management, leadership and governance of BE United. We are looking for is a driven leader who has the time to support the Managing Director and Finance Director to steer the charity and continue to move forward and progress.
You will be responsible for the governance of the charity and ensuring we are compliant with OSCR. You will work with the team to secure sponsorship and promote the work of the organisation within the wider community.

Organisation aims and objectives

To organise recreational activities with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended, create extra curricular engagement for communities that do not have existing programs or opportunities, build community spirit and new friendships and to advance citizenship and community development through a peer Leadership Program, build confidence in each individual participant, up-skill young people to be more employable and suited for leadership roles and community development and to promote racial harmony by creating an international Exchange Program, give participants opportunities to travel regardless of their wealth, educate through experiences of different cultures, combat issues of racism and intolerance and create long lasting relationships with people from other countries and cultures.

Experience required: As you will be the chair of the charity it is important to have business experience, understanding of business systems for growth; financial knowledge; governance & legal understanding; knowledge or willingness to learn & stay up to date with OSCR; passion for our vision and mission
Travel details: The board meets on the second Wednesday of every month at Norton Park.
