Description

During the course of your term you will be able contribute to the development and delivery of a new strategy, support the organisation in a phase of growth and learn new skills as a governor. Ultimately, Trustees act as stewards, maintaining oversight over the legal and financial health of the organisation to ensure its continued work.

To do this you will attend the eight Executive Committee meetings a year to contribute to the strategy, oversight and promotion of the organisation, but we also ask our Trustees to give their time in supporting fundraising. attending functions and acting as ambassadors.

To apply for this opportunity please send a copy of your C.V. with a short supporting statement to office@taysidecancersupport.org and we'll get back to you within a week for an informal discussion regarding the role. If you have any further question then please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Organisation aims and objectives

Tayside Cancer Support offers the opportunity for anyone affected by cancer in Tayside and the surrounding area to receive emotional, social and practical support, either on an individual basis or in a group setting. The charity has been in existence since July 1994, and is made up of an Executive Committee of voluntary Trustees, one paid employee and approximately twenty volunteer befrienders. We work with cancer patients, their families, carers and friends. We do this alongside healthcare professionals and other charities and support groups to provide vital support and information.
