We all need to stay at home to protect ourselves and others. However, those who are well and not at risk can provide essential support for their family, friends and neighbours who cannot leave the house.
Please note, organisations are currently experiencing a large volume of enquiries from people looking to help out. They may not always be able to meet this demand so please be patient, you may not receive a quick response or be assigned to a role.
I have been, for many years, the volunteer treasurer of The Abbeyfield Perth Society Ltd, situated at 25 Viewlands Road, Perth PH1 1BL. I will be 79 in a few months' time and feel it's time for me to retire, so the society will be actively looking for a new volunteer treasurer.
The Abbeyfield Perth Society is a 'not for profit' charity and operates the prestigious Viewlands House Care Home along with 6 tenanted properties at Viewland Court Perth. Full details of the society can be obtained by visiting the societies website at www.viewlands-house.co.uk
I would be happy to work in tandem with the new volunteer treasurer until he/she is satisfied that they can operate the systems themselves.
The society operates with a very competent administration set up and I, as the treasurer trustee, only need to attend the society offices 1 morning per week. I draw up quarterly management accounts (from the Sage accounts package, drawn up by the society's administrator) and these, along with other financial matters, are considered at the Executive trustees meetings.
So, we are looking for a competent person (preferably a retired accountant) who wishes to become a Trustee and assist in the running of a well-known Perth Care Home.
Abbeyfield Perth is an Independent Society within the Abbeyfield Charitable Organisation whose mission is to enhance the quality of life for older people and make their lives easier and more fulfilling. Viewlands House is set in a quiet residential area on the west side of the City of Perth in Scotland. The older part of the house is a 'B' listed building and the Society has been careful to retain as much of the original building as possible in order to provide a welcoming and homely atmosphere. Viewlands House is registered as a Care Home by the Care Inspectorate. In its 32 en-suite rooms it focuses on providing Residential Care. There is, however, full provision for nursing care should this become necessary. Also situated in the grounds are six bungalows, known as Viewlands Court. They are separate from the Care Home, and provide comfortable housing for couples or individuals who wish to continue to live independently in a community environment.
Experience required: A person who wishes to become a trustee and use their accountancy skills to become a voluntary Treasurer in this well established and prestigious Care Home.
