Description

Who can resist the chance to help restore a 'lost' 15th century walled garden here in Edinburgh? Or to get fit without paying gym costs? We are keen to recruit volunteers for a wide variety of gardening tasks. You don't have to have specific gardening skills – enthusiasm counts. A wide variety of tasks are involved in the restoration project – digging, clearing, weeding, planting, laying bases for greenhouse and composting toilet, making tea, helping with planning, harvesting seasonal produce.

Organisation aims and objectives

To protect and restore the 15thC Walled Garden that was once part of the now-demolished Granton Castle. In doing this we aim to create a thriving, sustainable and productive community garden and heritage gateway to Edinburgh's waterfront through a community-led approach that will be accessible to existing and new populations and will contribute to community integration and cohesion.
