A Befriender’s role is varied, and is determined by the needs of the person you are befriending. Generally, you will be expected to: meet with the client on a regular basis, offer emotional, social, listening and practical support to clients whose lives are affected by cancer; help them to access information about available services to complement the care and support of family, friends, and other care networks and recognise the potential need for further support.

You should maintain confidentiality and trustworthiness at all times. You will be expected to participate in training events, and to support TCS by contributing to fundraising events for a minimum of 6 hours per year.
