Victim Support Scotland needs volunteers to support victims of crime and witnesses attending court in West Dunbartonshire. Volunteers may be involved in a range of activities, including making contact with victims/witnesses by phone, supporting witnesses attending court and visiting victims in their own homes to offer practical and emotional support in the aftermath of crime.
To improve and increase knowledge about victims and witnesses through research studies, projects, appropriate publicity and information materials.

Witness Service volunteers - one day a week during office hours to work at Court buildings.Victim Service volunteers - approximately 3 - 4 hours a week, either during office hours or in the evening. Looking for a commitment of 1 year
All volunteers will require to be PVG checked. Previous offences will not necessarily exclude you from volunteering, but you are advised to make these known at initial interview.
Experience required: Communication Skills
Travel details: Based in Clydebank but court could be Clydebank and Dumbarton as well as the opportunity to do home visits.

Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: All out -of-pocket travel and meal expenses will be paid. Current mileage rate is 45p a mile for private car use, with other travel and meal expenses refunded on production of receipts.
